My work explores the life of an Asian female immigrant = me. Recently it was encouraging yet disturbing to find so many artists to share the challenging experiences living in a foreign country as an alien immigrant. These challenges made us stronger but I do want to offer comfort for myself and people who had to fight for their right to be present and to be respected as an equal.
I am embracing those hardships by making connections to the virtual world. In this place, everyone and all animals are rightful citizens of the new planet. ALL ALIENS ARE WELCOME in here because they bring so much value and perspective to the world. On this planet, Aliens are depicted often in a feminine body that is sometimes broken or missing in pieces reflecting their emotion or state of mind at that moment. Exploring self-identity and creating a unique world and characters are two main focuses of my project in this universe.
